Justine Henin did it. She won the season ending masters in Madrid, Spain, defeating Maria Sharapova 5-7, 7-5 and 6-3 in what I'd call one of the most thrilling and surely one of the longest (3 hours and 25 minutes) matches of this year to defend her title in the Sony Ericsson Championship. It was a match that could've gone either way at any point, but in the end Justine proved that she truely is the world's number one tennis player.
Even though Sharapova won the first set, Justine never gave up, pulled herself together and fought back with all her strength, winning the second set. Then the third set began and when Justine broke Maria's serve at 3-3, taking a 4-3 lead, I definitely knew that Justine would win...and win she did.

ALLEZ JUSTINE!

I hope you'll continue playing like this in 2008 and even though the season just ended, I can hardly wait for the first tournament you'll be competing in.

School has ended and now I'm going to university, studying english and spanish philology. What I'll do with that after...no idea, none at all. It's fun though, well, english and spanish I mean...but, as I had to learn, I need a qualification in Latin, too. Sucks, but, well, I'll get it over with.

Anyway, the other weekend, I went to the charity match in Mannheim Steffi Graf organized. To be honest I didn't really go there to see Steffi -- I mean she's a great tennis player still -- but, being a Justine Henin fan myself, I went there to see Justine. Had a great time. Although I was a little disappointed when Justine didn't play against Ana Ivanovic in the last match -- I would've loved to see that -- it was a great day. Well, except for the two people sitting behind us, bickering about Ana Ivanovic playing André Agassi. I was nearly tempted to hurt them, physically, but, well, I didn't. I'm a peaceful person after all, that is until you really, really provoke me. That saturday...clearly an up.

In the title it says "Ups and Downs" and since the "Up" has already been mentioned, this is gonna be the "Down". I'm not gonna say too much about this, since I don't really know how to put my feelings into words at the moment, but... So, alright, there is this person I met during a holiday job. A really cute person, the most beautiful human being I've ever met in person and for me it was -- I wouldn't say love here -- attraction at the first sight and during the weeks I worked there I found myself falling in love. Then the holiday job ended and I found myself missing that person which was bad already, but the worst part happened just a few -- maybe two -- hours ago. As I already mentioned I'm not gonna elaborate on this, so let's just say I found out that this person is taken. God, I sound kinda stupid I guess, but I don't know what to feel right now. I don't know whether to be angry, to be sad, to be disappointed, to be jealous or to just be numb.

Hopefully I'll have better news next time, but I had to get this out of my system somehow. Until then, psic

Deutscher 3-fach Sieg bei der Biathlon-WM in Antholz...einfach geil...Ich bin immer noch ganz aufgeregt und überdreht...Der heutige Massenstart war wohl eines der spannendsten Biathlon-Rennen der letzten Zeit-abgesehen von den beiden Siegen von Magdalena Neuner, die ich mir natürlich erhofft hatte und an die ich geglaubt hatte.
Von Anfang an, noch vor dem Start des Massenstartes hab ich gesagt das Andrea Henkel gewinnen würde und so war es-nach ner ziemlich nervenaufreibenden Schlussrunde im Kampf gegen Martina Glagow-dann auch. Andrea Henkel holt Gold, Martina Glagow Silber und Kati Wilhelm nach Magenproblemen Bronze...drei Medaillen für Deutschland...einfach nur noch geil...und Magdalena Neuner erreicht trotz 7 Strafrunden noch Platz 14 und hatte außerdem noch die schnalleste Laufzeit vor den anderen drei deutschen Mädels; ein sehr gutes Zeichen für die morgige Staffel, die sicherlich auch verdammt spannend wird.
Die deutschen Biathlon Mädels habens einfach drauf. Geil, geil, geil...

Komme gerade aus dem Kino, wo ich mir (wie schon angeküngigt) endlich "One Way" angesehen habe. Viele Leute waren ja nicht gerade da, aber egal...
Ich kann nicht verstehen, warum der Film in vielen Kritiken so verrissen wird und das liegt bei weitem nicht daran, dass ich ein riesen Lauren Lee Smith Fan bin, nein...der Film ist total sehenswert,die Schauspieler bringen ihre Rollen äußerst realistisch rüber(ich sag nur Laurens Augen), mal was anderes als dieser Hollywood-Mainstream-Kram. Und das Thema Vergewaltigung und sexueller Missbrauch, das der Film behandelt, geht uns schließlich alle etwas an. Wie oft hört man in letzter Zeit von sexuell misshandelten Kindern...
Na ja, aber genug düsteres Gerede...mein Abi hab ich jetzt auch hinter mir, zumindest den schriftlichen Teil. Zwar weiß ich noch nicht, wie es ausgefallen ist, aber ich habe alles in allem ein gutes Gefühl, vor allem nach der Chemie-Klausur, die ich mir viel schwerer vorgestellt hatte und vor der ich total nervös war. Ende März weiß ich mehr.

Schon wieder ein Jahr vorbei...wie die Zeit vergeht. Ich weiß, das hört sich an als wär ich schon uralt, aber irgendwie geht die Zeit doch schnell vorbei.
2007 bedeutet für mich ein Jahr der Veränderung und zwar in dem Sinne, dass ich demnächst (Mitte bis Ende Januar) mein schriftliches Abitur schreibe und Ende März nicht mehr zur Schule gehen muss. Noch vor ein paar Jahren hätte ich gesagt: "Cool, nie wieder Schule!", aber jetzt würd ich liebend gerne noch ein Weilchen länger die Schulbank drücken.
Das heißt natürlich nicht, dass ich durchs Abi fallen will, ganz im Gegenteil...

Außer dem ganzen Abi-Stress hat der Januar natürlich auch positive Seiten: One Way kommt in die deutschen Kinos. Okay, der Inhalt des Films ist vielleicht nicht unbedingt positiv (harmlos ausgedrückt), aber Lauren Lee Smith, meine absolute Lieblingsschauspielerin, hat darin eine Hauptrolle und allein wegen ihr lohnt sich (für mich zumindest) das Ansehen, auch wenn ihre Figur ein eher schlimmes (harmlos ausgedrückt) Schicksal erleidet.

Also dann, ich wünsche allen LJ-Usern ein frohes, neues Jahr.
